Say no to photoshop images when selling houses

It is wrong wrong wrong! On so many different levels. Enhancing the pic etc and switching all the lights on when people view your house or when you view a house are trade secrets and little gems I am sure. However please stop adding grasss and flowers and hiding cracks – it is wrong. You waste a persons time and show how false you are – it is wrong. Over the last 3 weeks I have spent much time trolling property sites and must say there are some good ones and some bad ones. The top of my list of iritations is certainly the shopped images.

The state of listings is a very close second. If you are a useless agent and you have a property up that is sold – take it down – keep your stock current – don’t you dare think I want your lazy bones to assit me in finding a house if you cannot keep your own stock of 5 houses current – I mean come on. Dont try and lure me in like that it is wrong!

Respond to emails – hats off to some of the agents on the sites – the best response system had to be the Leadhome one and can see they using a sales automation approach. Nice – looking good. For those that never contact me back – CARR estates – terrible – I filled in a few forms on properties you have listed over the last few weeks and to date no response. Do you check your junk email ? Don’t you test ? Are you still in business?

Give the street address – are you afriad the agents are going to canabalise if you publish the property for sale? That it is not sceure ? That it is a security issue when you have for sale signs outside the home ? Why give the address? Simple you lie – you make mistakes and you set the wrong areas – favorite is homes in Bloubosrand are considered Johannesburg North and if an agent wants to be very cheeky it becomes bordering Douglasdale.

Ok lets end off with incompetence of note and really the site hosting house should have checks and balances in place or it shows your data integrity sucks. Here is what I mean and found these 2 verbatim as shown:

First image – 21 000 m2 this really is the size of a small farm or can we say the average size farm in Farmall ? Means that this townhouse property is 200m long by 110m long – or simply put large enough for a full size rugby pitch with stands and benches!

The 2nd one takes the cake: 391 HA so this property for a little under 1.2 million has a land area enough to hold around 391 rugby pitches:

The international rugby field is very close to one hectare in size, it is actually 1.0008 hectares. A perfect square is 100 meters by 100 meters is a hectare. An acre is about 0.4047 hectare and one hectare contains about 2.47 acres.

Come on guys lets play fair and consider the home buyer who is looking for properties. If any website would like a full review done on their site – I am available.
